Gem BU (MS-65) William IIII Silver Rupee What a superlative coin! This silver rupee is 175 years old and as beautiful as the day it was minted. It has smooth fields, great luster and is almost completely mark free. I believe it merits the MS-65 grade. I also like the obverse legend that renders the Roman numeral IV as IIII and sticks a comma after it. This gem coin is struck in .917 silver and contains .3438 ounces pure silver . . . not that anyone would ever melt this beauty down! It is the variety with the incuse F in the truncation and is listed as KM #450.3. Another Gem Coin from my collection of British India Postage in the U.S. is $1.50.
